Sheikh Zayed Road Traffic Disrupted Due to Heavy Rainfall in Dubai

Impact of Heavy Rainfall on Traffic

Heavy rainfall in Dubai on the evening of February 12 and throughout the night has led to continued road diversions and traffic disruptions in the city on Tuesday afternoon. The effects of the downpour have necessitated rerouting traffic on Sheikh Zayed Road in the Jebel Ali area, prompting the Road and Transport Authority (RTA) to advise motorists to seek alternative routes for their journeys. Additionally, motorists traveling from Abu Dhabi should anticipate delays on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road.

Recommended Alternate Routes

The RTA has recommended several alternate routes for commuters. For those heading towards Abu Dhabi, options include Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road and Emirates Road, while motorists coming from Abu Dhabi are advised to take Seih Shuaib Street towards Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road and Emirates Road.

Last night, residents returning from Dubai to Abu Dhabi encountered significant flooding on Sheikh Zayed Road, resulting in slow-moving traffic as drivers exercised caution to prevent accidents. Images depicting the extent of water accumulation along the crucial highway towards Abu Dhabi underscored the severity of the situation.
