Sheikh Sultan Award Celebrates 555 Outstanding Young Talents in a Memorable Ceremony

The Sheikh Sultan Award for Celebrating the Spirit of Youth (SSA), a groundbreaking initiative in the region, has achieved a remarkable milestone during its fourth cycle by recognizing an impressive 555 young talents from both citizens and residents across the UAE. This significant number of honorees is the highest since the award’s inception in 2019, with achievements acknowledged in gold, silver, and bronze categories, based on the participants’ successful completion of specific criteria. Under the esteemed patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, the award continues to shine a spotlight on the diverse talents and capabilities of youth in the region.

In this latest cycle, the Sheikh Sultan Award extended heartfelt congratulations to the champions of the creative challenges, who showcased their remarkable skills and creativity at every level. This year witnessed an unprecedented turnout, with a record 906 participants vying for three types of medals across various sections, marking this cycle as the most competitive in the award’s history.

Aziza Ibrahim Al Maazmi, the Director of the Sheikh Sultan Award for Celebrating the Spirit of Youth, expressed immense pride in the outstanding achievements of the participants across a variety of challenge fields. These accomplishments exemplify the passion, creativity, determination, and sense of responsibility demonstrated by the participants. Al Maazmi emphasized how these achievements reflect the award’s mission to recognize the energy and capabilities of young individuals, cultivate a culture of excellence, and inspire them to navigate life’s challenges with confidence and creativity.

In her statement, Aziza Ibrahim Al Maazmi said: “We are absolutely thrilled to honor a new generation of exceptional youth who are set to become the pioneers and leaders of tomorrow, poised to make significant contributions to the sustainable development of our society and nation. We wholeheartedly congratulate them on their impressive achievements and eagerly anticipate their continued success in future endeavors. We hope their experiences will spark inspiration and energize even more creative talents within the UAE.”

The Sheikh Sultan Award revealed that out of the 555 awardees, 363 were young men and 192 were young women, with 42 recipients earning gold medals, 50 receiving silver, and 463 being awarded bronze. The participants hailed from various nationalities residing in the UAE, with Emirati participants securing the highest number of awards. Other awardees included individuals from India, Jordan, Syria, Egypt, Oman, Canada, the United States, Australia, and Pakistan.

This cycle also noted significant participation from schools and cultural sports clubs across the Emirates. Notably, ‘Our Own English High School Sharjah – Boys’ and ‘Delhi Private School – Sharjah’ emerged as the top institutions for gold medal achievements, while the ‘Emirates Scouts Association’ led in bronze medals. Participants from ‘Sharjah Youth’ received the highest number of silver medals.

The Sheikh Sultan Award, held annually, is open to young individuals aged 13 to 18 from all nationalities within the UAE. It has seen substantial engagement across its four criteria: Adventure, Volunteering, Skills, and Fitness & Well-Being. Over the past three editions, more than 1,500 young men and women have participated, resulting in 153 honorees: 36 received gold medals, 43 earned silver, and 74 were awarded bronze.
